FROSTY PAWS 


1 ripe banana
4 oz fat free yogurt--vanilla or banana
2 oz water
put all ingredients in blender and puree...pour into ice cube trays or cut
down dixie cups...freeze

Frozen Fruit Treats

Lots of Fruit
Fruit Juice
Low-fat Yogurt
Honey
Cinnamon

Place any fruit you favor in a blender. Some great ones are strawberries,
cantaloupe, watermelons, apples, peaches, or bananas. Add some unsweetened
juice (your choice - pineapple is good). Add a little low-fat yogurt for
thickening, honey for sweetening, and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Puree until well
blended and smooth. Freeze in little cups or ice cube trays and serve as
"popsicles".
Frozen Peanut Butter Yogurt Treats

32 ounces vanilla yogurt
1 cup peanut butter
1. Put the peanut butter in a microwave safe dish and microwave until
melted.
2. Mix the yogurt and the melted peanut butter in a bowl.
3. Pour mixture into cupcake papers and freeze.

Fruity Cupcakes

2 bananas
strawberries
apples
grapes
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 egg
3 tbsp corn syrup

Heat oven at 350 degrees Mash Fruit Mix all ingredients in a bowl, WELL bake
in cupcake pans for 20 minutes.

Holiday Dog Cookies


2 cups Whole wheat flour
2 cups All purpose flour
3/4 cup Corn meal
4 tbs. Vegetable oil
4 Bouillon cubes
2 cups Boiling water
Combine the first four ingredients, mix well. Dissolve the bouillon cubes in
boiling water. Add bouillon mixture to flour mixture to make a stiff dough.
For different flavors, add any of the following: garlic, crisp bacon strips,
bacon drippings or your dog's favorites. Roll onto a floured surface. Cut
out shapes with a cookie cutter or glass. Bake in a preheated 300F. oven for
30 minutes. Let stand overnight to harden better. 30 dog cookies.

Hummus 


A great appetizer to serve at your next doggie party!

1 can chickpeas
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons minced parsley, preferably fresh
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon tahini
whole wheat pita

Place all ingredients except pita bread in a food processor.
Blend till not quite smooth.
Serve spread on toasted whole wheat pita points (cut rounds into triangles
and heat in toaster oven) or mini rice cakes.
These can get messy, so avoid serving them on the carpet.

Peanutty Pupcicles


1 banana
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
Mash banana's and peanut butter, stir in wheat germ. Chill 1 hour. With wet
hands, solid. Place in container, store in refrigerator or freezer.

PET PARTY MIX


2 cups Cheerios
2 cups Chex or Crispix
2 cups spoon-size Shredded Wheat
2 tsps dry gravy mix
1/2 cup melted butter or margerine
1/2 cup imitation bacon bits
1/2 cup grated American Cheese Powder
1 cup dog treats (Pupperoni, Jerky Treats, etc.)

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Pour melted butter/margerine into a 13x9
baking pan.
Stir in cheese, bacon bits, and gravy mix. Add cereal and stir until all
pieces
are coated. Heat until crisp, approximately 45 minutes. Let cool and store
in
tightly sealed container.

Peanutty Pupcicles


1 banana
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
Mash banana's and peanut butter, stir in wheat germ. Chill 1 hour. With wet
hands, solid. Place in container, store in refrigerator or freezer.

Pumpkin Seed Cookies

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup soy flour
1 teaspoon bone meal
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
2 tablespoons oil
1/4 cup molasses
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk

Mix dry ingredients
In small bowl mix eggs and milk
Add oil, molasses and all but 1 tablespoon of egg/milk mixture.
If needed add a little extra milk.
Knead a few minutes, let dough rest 45 minutes.
Roll dough out to 1/2 inch and cut into shapes
Brush with remaining the egg/milk mixture.
Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes or until lightly brown
For a harder cookie, turn off heat and leave in oven over night

PUMPKIN PATCH DOG BISCUITS

1 1/2 CUPS WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR

1 TBSP BROWN SUGAR

1/2 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON

1/2 TEASPOON GROUND NUTMEG

4 TABLESPOONS BUTTER-FLAVORED CRISCO

1/2 CUP CANNED PUMPKIN

1 WHOLE EGG

1/2 CUP BUTTERMILK

PREHEAT OVEN TO 400.  COMBINE FLOUR, CINNAMON AND NUTMEG AND CUT IN SHORTENING.  BEAT EGG WITH MILK AND PUMPKIN AND COMBINE WITH FLOUR, MIXING WELL. STIR UNTIL SOFT DOUGH FORMS. DROP BY TABLESPOONS ONTO UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET AND BAKE FOR 12 TO 15 MINUTES.. LET COOL AND SERVE.

HOMEMADE FROSTY PAWS

32 OZ. VANILLA YOGURT

1 MASHED BANANA OR ONE LARGE JAR OF BABY FRUIT

2 TBSP. PEANUT BUTTER

2 TBSP HONEY

BLEND ALL TOGETHER AND FREEZE IN EITHER 3 OZ. PAPER CUPS OR ICE CUBE TRAYS.

MICROWAVE JUST A FEW SECONDS BEFORE SERVING.

Puppy Party Appetisers


1/2 lb. Ground beef
1/2 cup Whole wheat bread crumbs
1 Carrot, finely grated
1 Egg; beaten
1 tsp. Grated cheese
1 tsp. Tomato paste
1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
Preheat oven to 350F. Combine all ingredients, mix well. Roll into meat
balls. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until brown and
firm. Cool and store in refrigerator in airtight container or freeze.

Sunflower Chicken Biscuits

2 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 egg, beaten
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk

Mix together flour, cornmeal and seeds.
Add oil, broth, 2 eggs and milk.
Mix well
Let sit 15-20 minutes. On a lightly floured surface,
Roll dough out to 1/4 inch and cut into shapes
Brush with beaten egg.
Bake at 350 F for 25-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cool on rack.

Sunflower Treats


2 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 cups cornmeal
.5 cup sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons oil
.5 cup salt-free vegetable broth
.5 cup rice milk

in a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, and seeds.
Add oil, broth, and rice milk.
Stir to form a firm dough, adding a few tablespoons of water, if necessary
to achieve a smooth texture.
Roll out dough on a floured surface.
Cut with cookie cutters.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until crisp.

TURKEY BALLS

 

1 LOAF UNCOOKED BREAD OR PIZZA DOUGH

1/4 CUP TURKEY BROTH

1-2 TSP. FLOUR

3/4 CUP COOKED TURKEY, CUT UP SMALL

1/2 CUP COOKED VEGETABLES

1/4 TSP. GARLIC

1/4  CUP GRATED CHEESE

1/4 CUP SESAME SEEDS

ROLL OUT THE DOUGH AND CUT INTO 3 INCH CIRCLES WITH COOKIE CUTTER. IN A SAUCEPAN, COMBINE THE BROTH AND FLOUR, STIRRING UNTIL FLOUR IS DISSOLVED AND MIXTURE THICKENS.  ADD THE TURKEY, VEGGIES AND GARLIC POWDER.  COOK UNTIL MIXTURE IS HEATED THROUGH.. SIMMER A COUPLE MINUTES. SPOON ONE TO TWO TEASPOONS OF THE TURKEY MIXTURE ONTO EACH CIRCLE.  FOLD UP THE SIDES AND PINCH SHUT.. ROLL INTO BALL SHAPE.  MIX THE CHEESE AND SESAME SEEDS IN A SMALL BOWL. ROLL OR SPRINKLE EACH BALL WITH THE MIXTURE.

Woofer Stuffing

3 tablespoons whole wheat flour
3/4 cup cottage cheese, 2% fat
2 eggs
1/2 cup cooked Atlantic salmon -- finely diced
2 tablespoons parsley sprig -- finely chopped
Prepare the Poodle Pasta recipe. form into the desired ravioli shape and
size. Cover with damp cloth and set aside.

In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, whole wheat flour and eggs. Add salmon and
parsley mix a few more moments.

Depending on ravioli size, place 1 to 4 teaspoons in center of each, moisten
edges and fold.

Ravioli can be boiled or baked. If boiling, place in rapid boiling water for
10 to 15 minutes or till done. If baking pre-heat oven to 375, place ravioli
on a baking sheet, put in oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

Note: use leftover meat such as beef, chicken, lamb etc. Also shredded
veggies like carrots, sweet potato, etc. or chopped veggies such as green
beans, broccoli, kale etc. raw oat meal and cooked wild rice or cooked
barley, can be used in place of meat.
